3 Rendering with V-Ray

  1. Organize layers by material
    1. “Glass”
    2. “Concrete”
    3. “Metal”
    4. “DryWall”
  2. V-Ray > Material Editor / Right Click “Scene Materials” > Import New Material
  3. Select each material from the list
  4. Click on little circle in layer window
  5. Assign Material to layers / Plugin >
  6. V-Ray > Render Options > File > Load > gi_irmap_low.visopt
  7. Render > Render.

4 Scale Figure

  1. Take 3 picture of your classmates (3 different people, natural pose)
  2. Import 3 pictures to Illustrator
  3. Use Pen tool to trace / make sure line is closed.
  4. Save as Illustrator 3.
  5. In Rhino, import Illustrator file
  6. Scale the height of the person 5′-8″ typical male
  7. Run “PlanarSrf” Command
  8. Rotate to view vertical on Front View
  9. Decide 4 Render Views
  10. Run “NamedViews” Command, create a new view
  11. In your Render View, orient the person towards Render view

5  Photoshop CompositingOpen rendered PNG file

  1. Change brightness and contrast
  2. Change color with Hue and Saturation
  3. Add sky in the background
  4. Save as PNG

Assignment 6.0 = Midterm

  • Analyze your environment: your room / transportation / work space / relaxation space / public space.
  • Create a list of everything that surround you.
  • Model things that surround you, things you love in detail
  • Model your dream space, and ideal objects.
  • Shuffle and remix them into compact configuration to create a new space
